11/11! Make a wish! Now that I’ve gotten that out of my system. Let’s get into some of my favorite moments of the week, fun links, and other tidbits from the week and this odd November heatwave. I’m enjoying writing these weekly round ups, but I also want to bring other helpful posts back to the blog. If you have any ideas or requests, please let me know down in the comments or in my dms on instagram.
Style Help Needed
1| I’m in the middle of a personal style crisis at the moment, and I’m really trying to work on how to work myself out of the rut. I think I made such a hard pivot away from color and patterns when I moved to NYC that I was really stifling a part of my creativity when it comes to clothing and styling outfits. I’ve taken hard and fast to pinterest and am currently trying to define my ideal style with three words and identify creators/fashion folks who have my ideal style. I know for a fact that I am loving midi dresses and skirts and have linked a few here that I have my eye on. I wore a fun patterned number to a play this week and I’m in love with how I styled it!

2| Fashion TikTok can be so wonderful but also so disappointing at the same time. I was a big fan of Carla Rockmore before she posted her “oversized blazers aren’t for you” and cc’d the big boob community. Simi’s TikTok is the energy I needed. I styled a fabulous oversized feather blazer from Hutch with the cutest patterned dress from Yumi Kim to see The Piano Lesson on Broadway and looked great if I do say so!
3| Pinterest has been keeping me inspired for design clients, my own personal style, and my handbag addiction (or future addiction). The one decision I don’t need any help justifying is the decision to buy a new bag. The list of ideal bags is growing with the Bottega Teen Jodie, the Polene #10 and YSL Le 5 à 7 topping the list.
4| I am still in my makeup revival and having a blast. I played around with a blue look that was hit on Instagram! The blue shades on the It’s a Mood Palette from colourpop are stunning. They are super easy to pair together for a night time look.

New Hobbies Unlocked
5| Paris Baguette invited me in for a cake decorating event to celebrate the upcoming launch of their new round of holiday cakes. And, it was so much fun. I personally love when brand events have an activity component to them. I had a few people ask if this is something they do regularly at PB. Unfortunately, it’s not but here are some cute cake decorating options that might be of interest in the city: Milk Bar and Butter Lane Bakeshop.
6| If you follow along closely with my IG stories, you’ll know I went to see The Piano Lesson on Broadway on Wednesday night. First of all, I typically always see Broadway shows on the weekend, but Times Square was much more manageable on a Wednesday. I’m making a strong case for venturing out on a Wednesday.
The play itself was fantastic. It’s a star studded endeavor bringing on Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks. The craftsmanship was truly remarkable. I was a bit overwhelmed by the 2hr 45 minute running time, but it really flew by. The play is a searing evaluation of generational trauma and generational wealth. The authenticity of the script was evident in its ability to capture the chaos of Black family and social dynamics with a certain reverence but also without losing its rich personality. It was just plain funny, a little spooky, and beautifully performed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend.
7| I don’t get out to the outer boroughs nearly enough! I found myself in Crown Heights and a few blocks from Peaches after an event. Ruth and I were easily persuaded to pop in for a nighttime brunch moment. Get the French Toast! You will not regret!

Making My House a Home
8| I finally put up some artwork on my walls after a year and a half of bare beige. I found some super cute options on Desenio which has been my go to for artwork for years. Prints are 45% off right now and they always have a pretty big sale around Black Friday. Here are the new prints I picked up here, here, and here.
9| The end of daylight savings time has been especially and I’m feeling a little bit burnt out. I’m excited to treat this weekend as a “do nothing” weekend and reset after a super busy few weeks! Lots of face masks, TV, and soup are coming my way.

10| I’m halfway through the idiot by Elif Batuman and I’m very confused by it. I both simultaneously love and hate it. I think it’s a little long and monotonous. But, the writing is humorous and nostalgic and very well done. I’m also excited to finish it, so I can move on to more fun books. As always, my current reads are listed on my Goodreads.
Until next week!
