My mom and I like to laugh about how much my style has changed over the years. I used to be a color and bright patterns kind of gal. But, now I’ve realized that I’ve traded in the colorful patterns for the neutral ones. I still love an interesting print but like to pair them with a neutral to make it more practical for day to day. This fall was my first full season in the city. Technically, it’s still fall but it already feels like a southern gal’s full-blown winter. Don’t worry I haven’t pulled out my parka just yet. Snow is in this week’s forecast though. Pray for me.
Here are some fun outfits from this wonderful season that I love. From exploring the two bridges to a fun fall day in upstate, I’m sharing all my favorite ‘fits. You can see my outfits in action in my vlog series! I love capturing all these ‘firsts’ on camera.
Sunday
Leather Jacket | Star Print Romper | Booties (similar)
I absolutely adore this star romper and this totally Insta famous view of the Manhattan Bridge. Oh, and I’m disappointed because I’ve been around here so many times recently and have yet to find my own Lonely Boy. Honestly good because he ended up being a creep anyway.
Monday
Vest (solid color) | Sweater (similar) | Jeans (similar) | Boots
My fall uniform with a vest and rain boots to spice it up. A trip to the orchard is always a good idea and was such a fantastic break from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. This will definitely be a fall staple activity because everything was so tasty and looked so beautiful.
Tuesday
Jean Jacket | Jumpsuit (similar) | White Levi’s Tee (similar) | Sneakers
I love this big mirror so dang much and I take so many outfit photos. It’s crazy. I haven’t worn this jumpsuit in a while because I haven’t figured out how I want to style it for colder weather. But, it’s super cute for those of you in a perpetually warmer climate. And yes, I’m just a little bit jealous.
Wednesday
Denim Skirt (similar) | Flannel (similar) | Sherpa Bomber (similar) | Platform Sneakers
I like to keep it casual sometimes and this may have been the last day it was appropriate to walk around the city with my legs out, but I was going to bask in the warm glory for as long as I could. You can also warm this up by swapping my flannel for a sweater, my sneakers for booties, and add tights. Easy peasy.
Thursday
Long Cardigan (similar) | Striped Blouse (similar) | Pixie Pants | Platform Sneakers (similar)
I shared this on Instagram a couple weeks back and y’all totally agreed that Old Navy pixie pants may be the best things to ever exist. I mean who knew that business casual pants could be so comfortable. The cardigan I have on in this picture is the best thing ever and is one of the reasons I’m still obsessed with Old Navy to this day.
Friday
Leather Jacket | Leather Midi Skirt (similar) | Black Turtleneck (similar) | Booties (similar)
The College Fashion Week event was so much fun and I felt like a style queen in this outfit. I saw this faux leather midi skirt in Forever 21 the day before the event and immediately tried to come up with an outift. My mom ended up talking me through it and we came up with this. Totally chic and I got so many compliments! The slit was everything, honestly.
Saturday
Teddy Coat (similar) | Turtleneck Sweater | High Waisted Plaid Pants (similar) | Sneakers (similar)
We start with a bridge, we end with a bridge. This is my boujé New Yorker outfit for the season. I love this big slightly not practical Teddy coat that I feel like I keep talking about. This outfit was so much fun to wear and shoot in Central Park.
All my favorite outfits curated mostly from Old Navy, Nordstrom Rack, and Forever 21. You can be stylish on a budget, but you know I splurge on outerwear, shoes, and accessories every once and awhile. More on that here.
