Today’s post was so much fun to write. It’s been a hot minute since I caught up with y’all in my what’s the roast series and I’ve had an amazing last couple of weeks. Now, I’m exhausted and need a week-long nap. Before I go into hibernation, let me tell you all about the fun things I’ve been doing. AND, this post is sponsored by Ulta Beauty and Her Campus Media. But, as always, all comments and thoughts are all ME.
Now, let’s get to it!
Ulta Beauty spoiled me big time.
So, let’s take a journey back to the past. Imagine me, but 15 years old, stylishly strutting into a newly built Ulta Beauty ready to flash my orange rewards card. Ulta Beauty is a staple in my beauty life because it’s so easy to get my lower price point products and my must-have splurge items. I think their brand slogan says it best: all things beauty. all in one place. You can even shop online, and as someone who lives in New York City, that’s huge. My favorite thing by far is the fact that Ulta always has incredible coupons that you can use on pretty much anything.
Face
To help me create a stunning look for the College Fashion Week Event, Ulta sent some amazing products and I was so excited! I love a natural, yet shimmery eyeshadow look and the Tarte Double Duty Beauty palette was everything that I wanted. It has the perfect fall, warm shades for the lid and crease, but the champagne highlight shadow must have come straight from my dreams.
I don’t know how but the Ulta Beauty team knew that I love mixing in high end and drugstore products into all of my makeup looks. Cue the Makeup Revolution highlighter palette. I cannot believe that this thing is only $15 dollars. The pigmentation and quality rival some of those high-end brands pretty closely.
I also love a face mask and it’s the perfect skin pick me up right before a big event or packed day. I, of course, got a huge pimple a couple days before CFW and it was a persistent little bugger. But, the rest of my face is always glowy after a face mask like the Tony Moly Master Lab Intensive Hydrating Mask.
Lips
Lip gloss is having a mini moment and I have been on that train for a hot minute. The MAC lipglosses, ~crazily~ now available in Ulta Beauty stores too, have been my rock for years. My mom always bought them for me on my birthday and I haven’t been able to stop using them. This Too Faced one is such a fun addition to my beauty collection. The packaging is downright delectable which is exactly what I would have wanted from a brand that is always pushing the boundaries with the presentation.
Tools
I’m definitely a huge fan of the natural and dewy look. And, most of the time people are always asking me how I achieve such a “flawless” look. I promise that my skin has its issues, but I’ve found products that work for me and do an incredible job. I think people are always most surprised when I tell them that I use a drugstore foundation. I’ve talked about it in so many of my blog posts and you can get product specific details here. But, my Fit Me Foundation is only half the secret. I also use an incredible primer from NYX and the best setting spray from Urban Decay.
The MAC Goldlite Fix+ Spray is definitely how I plan on adding a little shimmer to my life and you have to have the best brushes to get that smooth look too. These It Cosmetics Make A Night Of It brush set are so fun with the rhinestone grips and are incredibly soft.
Hair
I was really pumped about the two hairsprays that I received because I haven’t been a huge fan of the one that I’ve been using for the past few months and when I unboxed these on Instagram stories, so many of you raved about both Bumble and Bumble and The Living Proof. They both smell absolutely incredible and seem like they are gonna be products that I keep in rotation for a while!
College Fashion Week 2018
One of the biggest reasons that I wanted to go to College Fashion Week is this year’s theme of The Real Runway. I wrote this post a couple weeks ago about the lack of diversity in the fashion industry and I felt that this event was exactly what I wanted to see. The show was so fun and empowering and featured models of all different sizes, shapes, and colors. I’m editing my vlog from this past weekend and I’ll insert it at the end of this post when it’s uploaded with footage of the shows. Primark really surprised me and I even went to the Kings Plaza location in Brooklyn for a mini shopping spree with Emily because I was so impressed.
The Ulta Beauty Bar
I made a pit stop at the Ulta Beauty Beauty Bar to touch up my makeup and I am totally obsessed with the Nars Climax Mascara that also came in my box of goodies before the event. I pair it with my Benefit They’re Real mascara. My eyelashes have never looked longer! I personally have never been to the beauty bar in Ulta stores but now I kind of want to because the MUAs were so dang talented and everyone looked fierce.
Of course, you know I had to bring it with the fashion. I mean it’s a fashion show and your girl skipped out on a lot of the drama of NYFW SS’19. This was my chance to wear that statement outfit. You can find my outfit details below! I felt fierce with that slit and the color palette gave me major fall and winter vibes. Also, I have to give a huge shoutout to Sabine and Carine for posting about those amazing H&M booties. I mean for $35 I might have to go buy another pair.

Meeting All The Bloggers!
It’s been a crazy two weeks filled with meeting bloggers. Who knew that I’d get to network with so many of my favorite bloggers at CFW? I met Sofi, Emily, and Eva at the event and they are all the sweetest gals. Emily and Eva live in the city and I can’t wait to meet up with them again soon!
I’m about to head out to grab drinks with Kendall Becker and had a really fun photoshoot with Sabine and Carine in DUMBO last weekend. I am getting my blogging gal fix!
Two weeks ago, I finally met Caitlyn and if you read the blog and have ever glazed over our comments section, you know that she is one of our biggest hype gals. We love her! Caitlyn and Katrina made a day of exploring so freaking funny and I also love that.
What’s so amazing is that all of these girls share their own stories, personalities, limits, and triumphs in their own way across all the platforms. I love following such a diverse group of girls {and guys} because I learn so much from all of them. We truly influence each other. To have that experience reflected on the runway, on TV screens, in advertising, and in the workplace would be truly incredible and long overdue.
It’s so crazy waking up in the city every day and not knowing what’s around the next corner.
I had a blast exploring the city with old and new friends and I can’t wait for all of the shenanigans to come. You’re probably getting tired of me saying this but, you’ve gotta follow along on social media. I post to Instagram stories all the time during the weekend and twitter is poppin’. What have you been up to? I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted but things are picking up at school/work and I’m trying to keep up with content as much as possible! I have a fun fashion post going live on Saturday that you won’t want to miss. Be sure to sign up for email alerts in the sidebar or follow us on Bloglovin’ for a notification everytime we post!
