Hey y’all! This week I’m bringing you a much-requested bar cart tour! I’ve had a lot of fun setting up the glassware and finding little trinkets to fill the shelves with, and I think now it’s almost complete!
I’ll try to link everything (or similar products) where I can. Let’s go let’s go!
IKEA Bar Cart Tour
The Shelves
Okay, so it’s not really a bar “cart” per se—since we had this whole empty wall in our apartment, we opted for two “bar shelves” instead! We love the modern white/glass combo, especially paired with all of our glassware and accents.
They were a littttle challenging to put together, but nothing that 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon and some good ol’ elbow grease couldn’t conquer.
The Glassware
Like the bar shelves, most of our glassware came from IKEA! We purchased a set of 6 champagne flutes, 6 margarita glasses, and 6 stemmed wine glasses, along with the flower vase that sits on top of the left shelf. The other glassware is an assortment from me and my roommate and includes stemless wine glasses, pint glasses, and lowball glasses.
Our pantry used to be full of glassware with no room for snacks so these bar shelves were a lifesaver for our snacking game!
The Trinkets
So probably the most important (and fun!) part about the bar shelves are all the fun little trinkets. This vase and 12-point star are from Nordstrom Rack ($9 for an Anthropologie vase!!), the “H” lowball glass is from Nordstrom, and the gold tray is from IKEA.
The hydrangea stems are from Trader Joe’s (do I shop anywhere else??). I love TJ’s flowers because they last over a week and the blooms only get better throughout the week as the petals expand. It’s my favorite $6 #treatyoself purchase!
On our second bar shelf, we have old pictures of me and my roommate (circa 2001 and 2008). I also added this huge lightbox I picked up from Nordstrom Rack for $15. We change up the quote every few weeks, and since Halloween is coming up, I thought a line from Werewolf Bar Mitzvah was appropriate.
Pinterest has some of the cutest lightbox quotes if you ever need inspo!
On the middle shelf, we have a gold pineapple shaker, some extra salt and pepper shakers, and 3 adorable wine stoppers (marble, crystal, and wood) that my roommate picked up from Target.
And on the bottom shelf, my mom gifted us with some great plastic serving dishes and bowls from Pottery Barn for when we entertain. We need to host a #TacoTuesday at the apartment so we can munch on chips and guac and use our margarita glasses!
