Hannah and I have this running joke going ever since we both moved to large ~metropolitan~ areas. We continuously make fun of the other by saying, “wow, how metropolitan of you” or “aren’t you just the city gal?!” It’s basically a coping mechanism for the difficulty of living in a fast-paced environment straight out of college.
I feel uniquely prepared for some of the struggles of living in NYC because I am freshly out of undergrad. I’m pretty cool with walking in 90-degree heat with 90% humidity {thank you Chapel Hill for the training}. Public transportation really isn’t that scary if you have the map on your phone. Google Maps truly is a godsend for navigating the city.
One skill that all of us need to know how to do well is: how to pack a bag. Shoot, more importantly, we all need to know how to pick THE bag. Today, I’m talking about all the things that are in my favorite bag to carry to work. I’ve fumbled around the past few weeks trying to build up this list of must-have essentials. So, I’m pretty sure I have every situation covered for the day-to-day.
My Bag
My mom bought me the Longchamp of my dreams for my 22nd birthday right before I moved to NYC! It’s all black and has a shoulder strap and it’s perfect for those days when I’m only carrying my iPad and other daily goodies with me. It is perfect for my on-the-go lifestyle and is so so spacious. This is my second Longchamp and I love the brand so much. 10/10 would recommend any of the sizes of their bag and the shoulder strap is such a great add-on. And yes, I 100% think it’s worth the steep price tag. My navy one has lasted me for almost 3 years now, and let’s just say it hasn’t been the easiest three years for the bag. I throw it around everywhere.

Traveling around in the city can be a …. process. Having all the essentials with you is important. I mostly need all of these things on the weekends when I’m exploring the city. I have most of these items stored in cute little pouches so I can easily transfer them to my bookbag or cross body bags. What do you keep in your bag?
keep on keepin’ on,
