I feel like having a designated gym bag is a very adult thing to have. I mean, let’s be real: I used to waltz over to the campus gym with my iPhone and headphones. And that was that. Commuting from my off-campus apartment and having to work out during weird parts of the day required me to be more prepared for anything that could happen at everyone’s favorite place to be. That last part was a joke…sometimes.
Today, I’m talking all about my favorite things to carry around in my gym bag. Ironically, I feel like I need to go get my work out in for the day after writing this post. Let’s get to it!
First off, I picked up my bag from an impromptu trip to T.J. Maxx. Man, I love that place. It’s from the brand tutilo new york but is unfortunately no longer available. Here are some similar and cute styles here and here.
1. A Cute & Practical Water Bottle
I’m about this close to purchasing a Hydroflask because “it’s still so cold.” I love my knock-off S’well bottle, but I really want something with a straw. I’m probably going to end up purchasing this one. Until then, I’m using my reusable Starbucks cold cup that just came out to tie me over.
2. A Sassy Hat
I picked this hat up around Christmas time [it would have made the best gift for your fitness-loving friends]. I love something that can mix in a coffee pun so I knew I needed to pick this up. The hat is no longer available, but the brand makes the cutest graphic tees. To be honest, I never thought I had a head that was made to rock a hat. But, I like to wear this when I don’t feel like doing anything to my hair and to keep it out of my face since it’s on the shorter side and ponytails look strange.
3. A Comb/Brush
When I have to pop into the gym in the middle of the day, I like to fix my hair up quickly with a quick comb and brush action.
4. Headbands
I use these mostly for cardio classes like Zumba or Kickboxing when my hat is more prone to fly off my head. I also steal these from my bag when I’m just having a lazy day.
5. A Towel
Extremely necessary for ab day and cycle classes especially because your girl sweats so much. Gross, but true.
6. Cleansing Cloths
When I have to work out before class, I don’t like heading over with a light scent of I just killed it at the gym. I like the Summer’s Eve Cleansing Cloths {#notsponsored} because they get the job done so well.
7. Rollerball Perfume
After we cleanse, we roll over the best scent to ever grace the earth. Viva La Juicy is my OG scent. I’ve gone through 2 full-size perfume bottles in the past five years and just recently discovered the amazingness of a roller ball to carry on the go. It really saved me when I was traveling with a carry on only in the spring.
8. Gum
There’s something so satisfying about chewing a new piece of gum after a killer workout. Orbit is my favorite!
9. Fitbit
I’m so bad about wearing my Fit Bit and most of the time I find it chilling in my workout bag. I don’t really know why. I have an older model of this one and when I first got it, I wore it all the time.
10. Face Cleanser & Moisturizer
My skin is having a moment and I don’t mean a good one. I like to keep my skin clean and moisturized after a good workout. Most of the time I can head home after a workout to shower and wash my face, but when I can’t I make sure to keep these travel sized Origins products [here and here] to keep my skin refreshed. I got these boys for free in an Influenster box a while back and they are great!
11. Crosstrainers
My Nikes are my favorite! I know very limited information about proper running and work out shoes. But, for the maintenance training and cardio that I do, these work great. I also have my eyes on these!
– SHOP THE POST –
That’s all that I carry around in my gym bag. I couldn’t find [ironically] my extra set of headphones that I also keep in there, but I usually keep an extra pair in there too! What do you keep in yours? Drop a comment down below; we love hearing from you!
keep on keepin’ on,
