There is something so fresh about the spring season. I don’t know about y’all, but I love when my apartment smells like freshly cut flowers with a hint of lemon-scented cleaning supplies. Today, I’m partnering with CORT to tell you all about spring cleaning! Their post all about motivating your roommate to clean was a great source of inspiration for this post. CORT also offers student packages that are

Momma Whiten is a cleaning queen and has all the scoop on new cleaning products to use, so I’m sharing a little bit of her advice as well. I’m also sharing some tips on how to declutter your space and ~practically~ revamp your space. If you’re ready to freshen up your environment for spring, keep on reading!
Clean out that closet.
Your closet can get so overwhelmingly disorganized over the course of a year. Not to mention, you’ll need to switch out your winter favorites with last year’s spring favorites. We also all know that you’ll be eyeing those “last time to shop winter” sales. My biggest tip here is to go through everything as soon as possible. I tend to fold a lot of my sweaters and place in clear containers under my bed to clear space!
I’ll also unearth spring and summer pieces and hang them in my closet. This is also an amazing time to switch out those clunky plastic hangers and opt for the super thin velvety ones. I’ve been repping these bad boys since my early blogging days. They seriously are the best investment for your closet along with clear boxes for your shoes.
I also make sure to go through and clean out and get rid of any shoes that have reached the end of the line. If the sole is coming undone and the straps have broken, it’s time to … “let them go”. I also highly recommend stuffing boots with tissue paper and storing those away; this will help them maintain their shape over the next few months.
Revamp your cleaning supplies.
Apparently, in the momma blogger/Youtuber world, method cleaning supplies are all the rave. My mom has tried out the All Purpose Cleaner and Antibacterial Toilet Cleanser. She’s kind of a cleaning pro, so I trust that these are pretty good to try out. I’ll probably invest in some of their products for myself when I do a deep clean of my apartment soon.
I also love buying new clean scented candles to burn [read: melt] around the apartment. The Sparkling Yuzu and Lime candle is one of my favorite scents and of course, you can pick it up at Target. It’s also a nice time to pick up Poo Pourri for the bathroom as well as a general aerosol spray to keep it smelling nice and rosy.
Invest in some stylish accents for your space.
My room at home used to be bright pink and purple and it was ~obnoxious~. But, my mom is smarter than me and redid it while I’ve been away at college. It’s now a super clean grey and white theme and she’s picked out some practical accent pieces to really step up the space. It’s motivated me to start thinking about how I want to decorate my apartment in the fall! CORT has tons of helpful tips for refreshing your space!
You can find super cute and affordable laundry baskets here and here. I also love the bedding that she picked out; you can find a similar style here. Lastly, I highly recommend investing in some cute luggage or boxes that you can display. You’ll save valuable retail space under your bed for other storage items.
I love leaving my Calpak marble luggage out because it’s so pretty and chic. It adds a little bit of character to the room. She’s also done a really nice job picking out artwork, frames, and other random trinkets to place on my side table.
So, those are my tips and tricks for all your spring cleaning and decorating needs. It’s totally normal if your super clean January preparation has been practically undone. I like to spend my Sundays in April cleaning and jamming out to music. Do you have any spring cleaning rituals? Do you like to change up your decorations to add a new mood to your space?
