What’s the Roast | Vol III: It’s All Good From Here

HI. Technically this is {two} days late, but better late than never, am I right? That’s what happens when you schedule a post to go live on February 14, 2019, instead of February 14, 2018. YIKES. Happy Late Valentine’s Day though! Every year Valentine’s Day is funny because it’s also my half birthday. 21.5, what’s up! Anyway, the weeks have gotten crazier and time has flown by, like how is it already halfway through February?? I have no clue.

What’s The Roast: Life

I’m still spending a lot of time away from Chapel Hill which is so bittersweet. Chapel Hill is a great place to be for undergrad; it has the college town, the big-time sports, and easy access classic restaurants that you can immediately turn into a food bucket list. But, I think I’ve really grown out of it. After visiting these amazing cities with a new culture and life of their own, I can finally say that I’m ready to move on.

That’s scary. I’ve always been kind of an independent spirit which makes creating super strong relationships with people a struggle. I guess you could say I know I’ll always be on the move and I wouldn’t want anyone to get too attached, more importantly, I don’t want to get too attached. I’m still trying to work through what that all means, but I’ll get back to you when I somewhat figure it out.

In other news, I got into grad school!! Man, it feels ~great~ to get results after working my butt off for the past 3.5 years. I truly am so blessed to be where I am right now, and I just want to thank the guy upstairs and everyone in my life for being there for me every step of the way. Gosh, life is ~mainly~ good. Lent has started and I’m giving up fast food. WOAH. Mostly because I need to cook more and spend less money. But, everyone gets those Chick-fil-a cravings and now I can’t act on it. Good and bad, y’all!

What’s the Roast: Current Loves

Technology

No real new technology faves. Still loving my Alexa, my Keurig gets so much love, and because there is no good category to throw it into my Calpak carry on suitcase is literal BAE.

Entertainment

February Spotify Playlist here. Spotify Premium saves my life. I stay super preoccupied when I’m on short flights by listening to music. It’s also nice background music to help me fall asleep. I’m off to Los Angeles this weekend so I should probably get some writing done too.

I also started back up Grey’s Anatomy and I’m trucking through Season 13. SEASON THIRTEEN. How the heck does Queen Shonda keep these storylines going. I also realized that Alex, Meredith, Bailey, and Weber may be the only original cast members still on there. And, the surgical nurse that is literally in every surgery. Y’all know who I’m talking about.

Health & Fitness

In need of some new meal prep recipes, I’m hoping to implement those in after the end of my cross-country tour lol. I’m a huge fan of spinach & mozzarella omelets. Oh, and Honeycrisp apples are pretty dang good too.

I’ve hit a fitness rut. The only thing I really enjoy doing at this point is Zumba. I think once I can get a consistent weight training schedule I’ll enjoy that again, but right now it’s not really making me excited to get fit! I do, however, want to start up cycling again!

Style & Beauty

I think I have converted to the monochromatic wardrobe life. I legitimately only wear black. It’s a nice color and everything matches. You can always find me in a bomber jacket and {to add a little color} my Steve Madden platform sneakers.

What’s the Roast: From My Lens

I had a little content creation shoot yesterday with Mikayla! It was a “fitness post” shoot and her adorable dog, Lucky, was on the scene too! Here’s a little sneak peek!

That’s all I have for this week! I’ve gotten pretty set in my routine and haven’t really discovered any new or special things in the past two weeks. But, a lot has been going on so make sure to stay connected on social media: Twitter and Instagram are my faves!
