On January 1, 2016, I created a 101 item bucket list that I wanted to complete in 1001 days. I’m currently looking back at it now and I can’t believe some of the things that I thought I would do in 2.5 years. But, I’m here to update you on some of the things I’ve been able to do it the past year! Some are lame and some are kinda cool and made me smile. You can check out the list and see my progress here.
Visit California.
I’m sure y’all are tired of hearing about my travels to California, but I have never been in a better head space than when I was soaking up some sun on the west coast. I absolutely love it in San Diego and Los Angeles. The outdoor seating and just general happiness of the people who live there is absolutely amazing. Summer 2017 was by far one of my favorite summers to date. I can’t wait to go back in February!
Celebrate turning 21.
I tweeted early last spring that I wanted to take a trip to New York over my fall break to celebrate my 21st. Aside from my summer research friends being the sweetest and buying me drinks and the funniest card, I treated myself to another spectacular trip. Can you tell I love big cities?
Write 100 blog posts.
I don’t exactly know if I meant that I should write 100 blog posts in this time frame or if I should reach my 100th blog post. I’ve made it to the second option and am working to finish the first by September! You can see all 175 of them here.
Find a new passion.
You also probably know that I’ve recently gotten into photography. You can check out my work here! Seriously, I love capturing people on camera. It’s so much fun!
See a movie by myself.
I saw Spiderman: Homecoming. I thought he was actually 15 and turns out Tom Holland is 2 months older than me. 10/10 would recommend a solo trip.
Visit 5 major cities.
This is actually at 6 right now. Houston, Myrtle Beach, Orlando, San Diego, Los Angeles [New Orleans in 2 days]; I love traveling and to be able to travel across the country has been amazing. I am blessed.
San Diego (2017)
Orlando (2016)
Why is my Instagram feed so much better when I travel?
Meet a blogger in real life.
This is by far the coolest one. I’ve actually met several bloggers at this point: Shaguna, Sally, Tilly, Camryn, and Saba. I seriously miss having conversations with bloggers because they just understand! Thankfully Camryn is in the Chapel Hill area and I’ll be working with her for blog photos and I’m pumped! Such cool gals!
While I still have a significant amount of these things left; I’m actually pretty proud. Some things that I never thought would actually happen did. It just goes to show that if you put your mind to something or even think up an idea, that you can make it happen. I’m very excited to see where the next 9 months take me and how many things I can actually mark off my list.
keep on keepin’ on,
