I am frequently getting compliments on my makeup and I thought that I would share my routine for Blogmas Day 10. Woah. We are 10 days in and I’ve only messed up once. I think that’s pretty dang good considering I’m also in the middle of final exams and papers. *Don’t worry school comes first, I know that!*
Anyway, I’ll be linking everything that I can throughout the post and just a heads up that these are affiliate links. This means that every time you click and/or purchase a product through our link; we make a small commission. This money goes to maintaining our theme and hosting and other fun things that we like to do for our blog! Okay, now let’s glow up!
Moisturize face and lips.
I freaking love the First Aid Beauty line; they have some of the best cleanser and moisturizer that I have ever used. When I was trying to take a break from the Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer, I found this amazing product. I’m not sure if I will ever go back now! I also switch between my EOS lip balm and Smith’s Rosebud Salve. After I wash my face and brush my teeth, I make sure to moisturize to keep my face from drying out especially in the winter.
Primer saves lives.
I swear the reason my skin looks so smooth in pictures and in person is because I use face primer underneath my face make up. While I am currently using the Maybelline master prime, my all time favorite face primer is from Smashbox [Elf has a bomb dupe that gets the job done for like a quarter of the price]. Seriously, I recommend investing in a quality primer because it seriously makes all the difference.
Step 1: Face
I feel like I’ve gone through like 15 bottles of the Fit Me Foundation, but it’s seriously the best drugstore face make up that exists. A dampened beauty sponge from Real Techniques is the perfect applicator and you only need around a quarter sized drop to get the job done. I set that with the MAC Powder Foundation that is also an OG face product for me. It seriously gives that airbrush Instagram worthy finish. I love it so much.
Trust me when I say that I’m not a contour queen, but the NYX Contour Palette is so easy to use and the darker shades work on darker skin tones. My other new favorite product is the Becca Liquid Highlighter in the shade Opal; it gives that nice dewy look. The last face product that I use is the MAC blush in the shade Sweet As Cocoa.
Step 2: Eyes
Recently, I’ve been going back to the original Naked Palette and sticking with three shades to do an everyday eye look. I first prime with the best eye shadow primer by Urban Decay and then apply the nude shade, Smog. I use Darkhorse in the crease and Sidecar in the inner eye to brighten them up.
My favorite mascara of all time is the Benefit They’re Real Mascara. After curling my eyelashes and applying this mascara, my eye lashes look so much longer and are extra voluminous. I also sometimes combine the Benefit Mascara with one of the CoverGirl Lengthening Mascaras.
I finish off the look with a couple spritzes of the Urban Decay Setting Spray. It keeps my makeup fresh and ready to go all day long.
Step 3: Lips and Brows
I am loving the Maybelline Lipsticks and I own 5 or 6 different shades at this point. I’ve been using the nude shade Toasted Truffle recently. The very last thing that I do and probably the easiest part is brushing my eyebrows and making sure they sit right for the day with a spoolie. I don’t use any products for my brows because they pretty much act correctly on their own.
I’m able to do all of this in roughly 10-15 minutes depending on whether I spend a lot of time trying to perfect my contour/highlight. What are your favorite beauty products? How long do you spend getting ready in the morning?
