I’m a super busy gal and I’m like 95% positive that if you’re reading this you are too. We need to have our schedules right and tight in order to be efficient and still get everything done! I recently started a new Sunday routine that has become slightly religious and it works great. I schedule in time for cleaning, homework, meetings, and downtime.
There is a very thin line between being crazy busy and working so hard on too many things, inefficiently. So, I’ve learned that I need to maximize my time during the week a little bit more strictly so that I can use my weekends for things that I actually enjoy. {Note: I’m doing a ton of fun things almost every weekend of October and November and I’m excited!}
Now, let’s get into my tips to improve your week by efficiently using your Sundays!
Plan your week out in a calendar.
I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t plan out my week with meetings and responsibilities. I recommend doing this at the start of your day over a quick breakfast. I also dress up my Erin Condren with cute stickers and accessories that I got from Michael’s.
Go grocery shopping early in the morning for your weekly meal plan.
I wrote this post a few weeks ago where I talk all about how I’ve started meal prepping. It seriously has saved my life on multiple occasions in saving and maximizing my time during the week. 10/10 would recommend.
Meet up with a friend for coffee or brunch.
I think this is self-explanatory. But, brunch plz.
Get your biggest assignment of the week out of the way.
I always try and tackle the biggest project that I have for the week on Sunday during the day when my mind is the freshest. This makes those busy homework nights so much easier because the biggest time sucker has been mostly tackled.
Tackle a cleaning project that you wouldn’t get to during the week
When my environment is cleaner, I feel more put together. So, naturally, I had to recommend a cleaning task to tackle during your Sunday. I like to mop the floors, vacuum, and/or go through my pantry. Sometimes, I’ll even do a deep clean of my bathroom.
Go to the movies solo.
This might just be a ~Gabby~ thing, but I think going to the movies alone is so fulfilling and self-sufficient. If that movie that you never got around to seeing is still out, go and enjoy it!
Try a new recipe for dinner.
So, I typically will eat something different for dinner than whatever is on deck from the meals that I prepped earlier in the day. I’m on a cooking kick right now and really love experimenting and trying to learn how to mix spices and create delish and easy meals without even thinking!
Write out your goals for the week in a journal.
I do this in my planner, because like most of you already know, my planner is my life and I would not survive without it. I know that for a fact. I’ve been trying to get better about hitting my long-term goals by really focusing more on the week to week short-term ones.
Take a bubble bath and burn a candle in your room.
I’ve been talking about a bubble bath for at least two weeks now and I might just make it happen today! I’ll keep y’all updated on Instagram stories {Insta: @theswirlblog}. Imagine how nice it would be to end a productive and calm Sunday with a nice, calming playlist and the sweet tones of Pumpkin Spice filling your bathroom. Yeah, I’ll be right back, gonna go do that right now!
Build a new commute playlist for the week {picking out your favorite’s from last week’s Discover Weekly Playlist}.
If you are in college and can afford the Spotify Premium subscription, I 10/10 recommend you go and get it right now! Oh, and did I mention you also get free Hulu with your subscription? That is wild. Anyway, I think I’m going to start building a commute playlist and updating it from month to month {stealing this idea from Hannah}. I’m the type of person that listens to the same song 50,000 times before I get tired of it, but I would like to be able to diversify my music from time to time.
I’m so glad to be back and writing. Also, I’ve been taking photos like crazy! If you’re interested in portrait photography, you should check out my photography Instagram account @photobygcw! It’s a good time. Anyway, Happy Sunday! What is your go-to routine/thing to do to help prepare for the week?
keep on keepin’ on,
