HI HELLO!
It’s Friday. Which means it’s time to chat! There’s been a little gap in my Friday chit chats, but I was legitimately itching to get to writing this, so I knew I needed to just go ahead and sit down and write it before I got too late! Today’s just going to be a brain dump because a lot has been happening in my life and in the world. Basically, there’s a lot to get through. So, who’s ready for some more rambling on this fine Friday night? Yep, right after I finish writing this, I’m gonna go get pizza and watch some rom coms. It’s going to be a lit night! Also, missing Cali a little bit today; here’s a picture I took at Sunset Cliffs! Also #2: where the heck did August go?????
JUST ME THINGS
Senior year is off to a ~wild~ start. Don’t get me wrong. I’m totally glad to be back, but I didn’t realize that I’d be in go go go mode this early into the semester. By “this early”, I actually meant the first day. The weirdest thing about this semester is feeling super old. There’s no room for rookie mistakes like forgetting your ID card and waking up late for class. I’ve been doing this for three years now so I should have it done right?
NOPE. I walked to the wrong building and didn’t even look at what I needed to be doing until the night before the first day of class. A part of me wants to stay in this undergraduate bubble forever because it’s familiar and easy to me. I don’t want to grow up and move on. I’m not the super-overly-emotionally-dramatic-adverse-to-change type of person, but I am feeling some type of way about moving on to the next chapter of my life. I’ll keep y’all updated on #seniorszn. Note: I can confirm that pint night is the move to hang with friends in the middle of the week to avoid responsibilities!
ME & MY MUSIC
I’m having a slow moment in music right now. I’ve hopped back onto Chance’s Coloring Book and Camila Cabello’s song OMG is my walk to class jam. Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do had my twitter feed in a state of frenzy and it was hilarious. My opinion on her is that she is v. smart and knows how to manipulate millions of people, including myself, into spending valuable time thinking about her basic self. Anyway, if you have music suggestions for me, drop ‘em down in the comments!!
PRAYERS FOR HOUSTON
Houston has had my heart since Summer 2016. I spent 2 months exploring some new avenues and ultimately realized that my dreams of going to medical school were not founded in any passion just expectation. So, I hop, skipped, and jumped off that nightmare path and found a much better [for me] direction. Anywho, the devastation in Houston is seriously breaking my heart. My parents are from Louisiana and my mom has spent quite a bit of time in NOLA, so the whole situation drums up some memories of Katrina and the devastation she caused.
Most of the people who are left stranded in these situations don’t have the resources to build themselves back up and your donation of time and money is so crucial. I’ve pledged to donate a dollar for every like that this post gets on our Facebook page up to $50 to the recovery efforts. You can like this post here.
