For some crazy reason, this weekend was prime time to check out restaurants and prime photography destinations. I had a blast exploring a lot of different areas in the city and trying some new foods. Everything was absolutely delicious and made me super excited to try more while I’m down here this summer. Keep reading to see all of my food diary and some cute pictures from the weekend!

So, Friday we debuted our new online community that we are cultivating as part of our blog called #swirlsocial! We talked a lot about our vision for it here. We really want it to be something that connects a lot of different bloggers across a lot of different niches! Keep using the hashtag on all your Instagram pictures for a chance to be featured in our July Monthly Recap! Also, we talked all about these awesome phone cases from jimmyCASE and did a giveaway {ends in 4 days}!

I met up with Shaguna from the Gold&Hearts blog, and we went to the most delicious crepe place I’ve ever been to! We both tried the Apple Cinnamon Creme Brûlée sweet crepe and it was so so so so good! We were bad bloggers and didn’t snap a pic together, but we did get some pics of our food and the adorable exterior of the little shop we went too!
In the afternoon, we explored a little bit of Montrose and found this adorable mural on the side of a store called Biscuit.
Also, this is the romper I mentioned from the last Weekend In My life that I picked up from Forever 21. High key obsessed with the ruffle detailing on the shorts! I’m also wearing my favorite sandals from Target, a marbled monogram necklace from Baublebar, and a camel crossbody from Rebecca Minkoff!
Then, we wanted to try a new restaurant in Montrose and came across Niko Niko’s which is absolutely delicious y’all! It’s a Greek and American cafe, so you could see the cross between the two styles in a lot of the menu options! I had a Greek + Italian + American meal and it was odd but so so good! This was my ~cheat~ meal for this weekend. I had the Greek Chicken Parmesan Pita Sandwich with a side of fries and then had to stay hydrated with a cup of water!
After we had our huge dinners, we wanted to walk it off a little bit and ended up in the River Oaks Shopping Center. I wanted to look for a new book to read so we headed over to Barnes & Noble! If you have any recommendations for books I can read, please comment some down below! I miss reading for fun so much and this summer would be the perfect time to curl up on a warm night and just read. I ended up picking up Me Before You and stayed up later than I care to admit, diving into JoJo Meyes’ well written world. I also snapped some pics of the Cali-esque palm trees that lined the shopping center’s main roadway.

I HAD NUTELLA FRENCH TOAST. We went to an uber chic brunch place called Dish Society which is like all I ever wanted from the city experience and more. They had such a cute outdoor set up and you know I already love brunch so I was just in a great mood after this meal! ~Do try their skillet potatoes, they’re super small pieces but jam packed with flavor!
The weekend ended with a super fun BloggingCollege chat hosted by yours truly! I had a blast chatting with all the girls about life goals, favorite Ben & Jerry’s flavors, and more! If you’re looking for a cool group of bloggers, definitely check this chat out! Hopefully, Kayla will let us host again sometime soon when Hannah is actually in the country and able to participate! Here’s a question from the chat that you can leave an answer to in the comments below! Love y’all and excited to see what I can do in Houston the rest of this summer~ maybe less food adventures? Probably not.
With love,
