It’s almost February and you know what that means – only a few days until GALENTINE’S DAY! Some of you might be asking
In the words of its founder, Parks & Rec’s Leslie Knope
So get ready to celebrate your gal pals in full Leslie Knope style that’ll have you wondering
1. Food
Honestly food is the most important part of any party, so reserve a table at your favorite local eatery, whether it’s a quaint breakfast nook for a quiet brunch or that trendy Asian restaurant you’ve been eyeing (#TreatYoSelf, because this day is all about YOU). Or, if you want to stay in, order a special heart-shaped pizza from Pizza Hut (and some breadsticks, of course).
2. Fun
Taking a cue from the movie “Valentine’s Day”, you could order yourself a giant piñata, fill it with candy, and release some pent-up frustration by smashing the heck out of it. *Disclaimer: Do this at your house, not in public. For something a little less violent and a lot more in the spirit of Galentine’s Day, go around the table and say something that you love about each person. Bonus points if you come up with cool adjectives, a la Leslie Knope to Anne Perkins
And because it wouldn’t be Galentine’s Day without a little chocolate and strawberries, gather the girls around to make Galentine’s Day dessert skewers- slide strawberries, brownie bites, and marshmallows onto a skewer and finish with a drizzle of melted chocolate for a fantastic Galentine’s Day treat. Or, to honor Leslie Knope’s love for breakfast food, whip up some chocolate waffles and add fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
3. Favors
Say a huge THANK YOU to your friends for partaking in this most sacred of holidays with you. These cute monogrammed mugs from Anthropologie
are the perfect gift for your guests to remember the awesome day you had (and would look SO cute filled with pink and red Hershey Kisses).
