Hey y’all! So I didn’t really have anything planned for this post until I went to Trader Joe’s on Sunday morning and realized that I could do a TJ’s haul!
I didn’t really have anything specific in mind so I just kind of wandered the (crowded aisles) to see what caught my eye! I ended up getting a ton of goodies, including some frozen meals, snacks, and sweet treats. You really can’t go wrong with anything you buy at Trader Joe’s.
Also, I’m sorry about the phone photos! I realized that my camera was dead this afternoon and really wanted to get this post out!
Frozen Stuff
One of my all-time favorite buys at Trader Joe’s is the chicken fried rice! It’s super easy to pop in the microwave and I can usually get 2-3 meals out of the bag.
Since I used to make rice bowls for almost every meal in college, I picked up a frozen chicken burrito bowl that I’m hoping will be pretty tasty. My roommate asked me to pick up some chicken tiki masala bowls, which she likes to make for dinner.
Finally, one of my favorite sweet treats are the frozen chocolate-covered banana slices. They’re not too heavy and I don’t feel horrible about sneaking a few after 10PM when I want some chocolate 🙂
Snacks
I just can’t say enough about these dried mango slices. Like the frozen banana bites, they’re my go-to snack if I want something sweet but (kind of??) healthy.
I’m also a big fan of chocolate-covered espresso beans. I think I’ll pack a few of these to take to work when that mid-afternoon slump hits.
Finally, if you follow us on Instagram, you know how much I am obsessed with this mixed nut butter. I spread it on apple slices and top it with granola and mini chocolate chips for the perfect afternoon snack!
Other snacks I got but aren’t pictured are wavy salt & pepper chips and a bag of low-fat mozzerella cheese sticks.
Breakfast & Workout Snacks
I’m always on the hunt for snack bars that are filling but aren’t full of sugar & empty calories, and I think I’ve finally settled on Rx Bars. I’ve been really into the sea salt chocolate flavor, but this chocolate coconut one was calling my name.
I was also inspired by Remi Ashten’s videos and picked up a Complete Cookie for a post-work/pre-gym snack.
Finally, I was walking around looking for something I could eat for breakfast on my way to work (because let’s be honest: I do not want to get up early to cook eggs & bacon in the morning). I decided that a nut mix would be a great way to start the day, so I picked up these little snack bags.
If I like this mix, I’ll probably buy the ingredients in bulk and make it myself to save money and cut down on plastic waste!
Fruit & Wine
It’s the end of watermelon season, so I snagged a personal watermelon to cut up and bring to work. I also grabbed a few apples for my favorite apple/nut butter snack that I mentioned earlier.
I am really intrigued by canned wine, so I picked up cans of chardonnay and red wine blend to try. They weren’t too pricey ($2.99 each for 325 mL) and I’m intrigued as to how the can keeps the wine fresh & tasty!
